Dam Build Time-lapse of Today
We have been working on the base of the dam for a while. Today we rounded the corner of the pond outline and this is our day in Time-lapse.
We keep the pond drained which is a daily challenge. There is ponds all around us and at least 1 acre of this corner of our property is never dry. We decided to make a pond out of it since that is what is wants to be anyway.
All four in in family work on this, all on Kubota's. We tried to hire this out, called 3 companies, 1 showed up, ZERO estimates. So we just keep rolling.
Hubby: Kubota L4060
Me: Kubota L4060

Ride with me on my first day in the field with a Lane Shark LS-2 attached to my Kubota L4060. Counter weight provided by my trusty Brown 416 bush hog. The terrain is horrible due to Hurricane Michael....... this area WAS dense forest until the storm 😞 2 years later and we are still clearing land and maintaining our new fields. Review at the end. Great implement for what I need. The longer I use...

Planting 10 Bald Cypress Tree seedlings in a creek bed area that is almost always wet or damp. Holes dug with a Kubota L3560 and Land Pride PD15 Post Hole Digger. Trees were then surrounded by a DIY field fence type cage to prevent wild life from munching on the seedlings. Reforestation beginnings after Hurricane Michael. We lost about 90% of our forests in Hurricane Michael and REALLY want som...

We seeded Pensacola Bahia with our #KubotaRTV It was a lot of fun and very productive, a LOT more of that to do. We do need to get our pyromania on with these GINORMOUS burn piles tho. It's on the list. 18 months of recovery and still rocking ...

Dog Training: Rear End Awareness for Heel
They have a new one that moves off hydraulic power. However it’s about $10,000
For that application maybe an offset flail mower would be so much quicker.
You can't see it in front of the tractor
Organize a beaver hunt!
I see a orange tractor in your pond someday
I thought why does that Kubota sound so bad..🤔 then I realize it was the chainsaw running 😂
Nice job!
I detest the clickbait beaver dam. Bull sh...t
Boy that drained fast.
This seems atypical of beaver construction, this seems like it’s just debris buildup from the hurricane that struck you. Beavers don’t use fences in their construction.
You people STILL don't read do you? We know it is beavers, we know the difference between Dams and Dens. They use what is available. The fence keeps them from building in the middle of the culvert. It costs thousands of dollars when they build in the middle of a culvert and you have to bring in an excavator to clean it. I am just shocked at the ignorance in the comments Just insane.
@@SandraOpines What do you mean “You people”? I came to my own conclusion free from external influence. I simply offered my discernment and moved on. Sad that you take someone freely commenting on your video as an insult. Anyways, what you pulled out of the entrance to the culvert is debris, NOT beaver construction. It is neither a beaver dam, nor a beaver lodge. Beavers build dams using organic materials including tree trunks, branches, vegetation, and mud. They do not use metal fences. Why do you think in this video the water turbidity is so high? Why do you think the ground is so damp everywhere? Why do you think there are felled trees everywhere, laying down in the ground? It is because of the hurricane, not beavers. Beavers don’t build inside of culverts that small, the diameter of the pipe is too small to build and maintain structure. Let us consider the occluded pipe for a moment. You mentioned in the video that the beavers must have buried it there to stop the water from running. Now consider that an extremely powerful hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph has just swept over your property. Which is more likely to cause widespread damage? Which is going to spread debris over a large area? Not beavers certainly. This particular incident wasn’t beavers. It wasn’t their construction. This happened because a hurricane knocked over a fence, and because of high waters, it rushed down stream. As the water got closer to the culvert, it sped up in accordance with Bernoulli’s principle. This drew the fence closer, faster, along with other debris that happened to be flowing. The fence, obviously too large to fit into the culvert became occluded at its entrance. The high water turbidity meant that there was a great amount of suspended solids in the water, explaining why it seems buried when it was pulled out. The suspended solids dropped out when the water stagnated, sinking to the bottom. Because the fence was not initially completely blocking the culvert, it allowed water to keep flowing. This drew even more debris to the culvert, which was snagged on the fence, eventually completely occluding the culvert. It is also untrue that they use whatever available. If the supply of trees is depleted, they invariably abandon their site. They don’t go looking for more or different materials, or whatever’s available, they leave. Not Beavers.
Not beaver. Just gunk. Beavers weave sticks with mud.
Nice video but zooming in would of been awesome.
He got it flowing reeeal good! And I must say, he got some good tractor operating skills to have been leaning that far off the bank!
Hope you guys are well. We rented a stump grinder over weekend, still so much clean up ahead of us and we're not getting any younger! ❤️
The stump grinders are a CHORE for sure. We found it was just as economical for us to hire an excavator to snatch the rootballs out. Of course we figured this out after about 500 stumps ground LOL Rough stuff guys!!!! I am leveling ground on 3 acres which is insane. It was woods and now field. Good thing I enjoy leveling with my planer. LOL It never ends. <3
Hope you are doing well. We rented a stump grinder over weekend....still so much work to do and we're not getting any younger! ❤️

We just got through planting 35 Bald Cypress saplings in areas in our community park, easements and along the Colonial Gas Pipeline where the areas are low and swampy either permanently or temporarily here in Northern Virginia. Bald Cypress is native to many parts of Virginia and unfortunately, over the centuries were logged over in many areas to the point of being extirpated. The Virginia Department of Forestry sells them fairly cheap and encourages replanting them. I have two planted at my house that are about 14 years old that are over 30 feet tall. A great hardy tree that has its origins in the time of the dinosaurs.
you all messed up your rice paddy. good job

Hey Beaver... Yea Wally? They're taking your dam apart again! WTF!
How much weight is that on the rear tire
Idiots they walked over the other side and rebuild
You clearly know NOTHING about Beavers. Sit down!
You may not realize, but Beavers dam on the inlet side of the culvert, NOT on the discharge side. Ahem
Also just supported your channel!
Great project! I want to plant some here in nevada!
Tugging on that mud and sticks leaned over the water that far I was afraid he might slip in. Damned beavers. Lol
That was painful.
Hello, Do you still like the Lane Shark? Have you learned to use it in the vertical position for cutting trees and high brush. Do you recommend it? Thanks!
Excellent
Let it, it's a problem in northern America we have a limited amount of lakes compared to pre government, when the land was prosperous.
Very smart to use the gate as a substructure that sucker's the Beaver into building on it
That's what I was thinking. Give em a sturdy metal foundation to start building on... uhhh ok 🤦🏼♀️🌞
1:53 looks like you could use the backhoe attachment 👍🏻👍🏻🤠🇺🇸
Beavers is problem everywhere ruclips.net/video/xikrlbOQAaE/видео.html
Here I am again! First to see your new toys! ❤️ 🙏
Awesome! So glad to see ya again!
I am sorry to say, as a red blooded American man, that yuckadoodles is part of my vocabulary. I used the word in reaction to something disgusting and everybody just looked at me😂
If he falls in there with the tractor he will wish not for that.
What happens to the beavers? How do you know if there were baby beavers in the dam?
The dams are what they do to stop the sound of water running. The beavers live in Beaver Dens. The beavers are just fine in their dens..........
Horsepower and hydraulics! Finally, after thousands of years, we are able to stand against the invasion!
Some people have all the fun! God is great with all of that helpful equipment! Hope you are all well! 🙏
That excavator comes with a hefty price tag........ $110 per hour. But absolutely necessary. We are doing well, how is your recovery coming?
I sure wish we could reconnect. I have no idea how to find you. Hugs, Sandra
WHY NOT USE A 22 AND PERMANENTLY SOLVE BEAVER PROBLEM
As mentioned many times before, Hurricane Michael downed 90% of our trees and the beaver dams are all very close (couple hundred feet) from an Interstate so not much to slow a bullet down. We can't really shoot anymore around here :( We also don't have time to stake out Beavers with a gun...... we are still working 7 days a week clearing Hurricane debris. Life as we know it is VERY different now.
Love when I got your notifications! Always good to see what you are up to! Looking terrific! 👍
Thank you! It is always an adventure round here 😂
thats pretty fking stupid. maybe it was beavers, maybe it was just debris piling up against your gate on the culvert. jesus christ.
I have a very similar setup with an L5740HSTC and LP2672 cutter, even have the wheel weights. If you haven't done it you can't get a real sense of how steep that is. It doesn't bother some people, but sure raises my pucker factor. Hats off to PSDStu.
Do we have 911 in the panhandle? XO
The last time I used 911 it took about 40 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. It's insane
The president keeps saying (and I believe him) THE BEST IS YET TO COME! Excellent job!
What camera are you using ? May i know details about it ?
GoPro 7 Black. It rocks! Thank you for watching
I thought you were going to fall overboard several times!
Post 10 wouldn’t have let this happen
Post 10 could have done it with his bare hands
🤣🤣😂😂
Send me some of them over populated beavers you have over here to Texas, as long as they are not illegal immigrant beavers. I can use some hard working patriotic, steel churning beaver machines irrigate our cotton and the pecan groves. BTW - doesn't it make you a socialist looking for government handouts? Think about that for a minute...
